listening to music while the azan is being recited

It is not wrong to do something, but it is polite to respect the call to prayer.

listening to music while the azan is being recited

It is wrong to listen to music while the call to prayer is being said. You have been annoying me since this morning. If you show respect for the call to prayer and respect for people, then turn off the music.

listening to music while the azan is being recited

When someone is listening to music or a hymn, the Adhan (the Islamic call to prayer) can interrupt the sound.

listening to music while the azan is being recited

Every November 10th, no matter where I am, I take a minute of silence at 9:05am. I sit up straight and turn off any music that is playing. If there is a funeral procession in my street, I will stop and hold the coffin while I read the Fatiha. I want to be an example to those who listen to music during prayer and those who sleep in on November 10th.

It's alright if you don't want to watch Jesus Christ Superstar right now.

listening to music while the azan is being recited

This is not wrong or bad. It is a sign of respect for the call to prayer. It was so hard to say the call to prayer that our ancestors, including the Prophet Bilal, would take a moment of silence on November 10th, just like we do for Atatürk. If we are just trying to show respect and appreciation, then this is also true when the call to prayer is said.
